WS Packaging manufactures labels and packaging information tags. The company hired Cherokee Millwright in 2014 to consolidate five of its plants into one facility in West Bridge Industrial Park. The project manager developed a detailed schedule to facilitate the relocation of all the plants into the new facility, paying specific attention to minimizing the production impact to WS Packaging’s manufacturing processes. We constructed the mechanical infrastructure that would accept newly relocated equipment before moving the equipment to the new plant. Our coordinated logistics to relocate large printing machines to the new facility while at the same time making sure the precise alignment and utility connections were ready, required only two days down time for the manufacturer. In addition, the team used air bearings to relocate equipment on a white EPOXY clean room floor and provided startup and technical support for the production staff in order to facilitate a prompt machine start-up.
